Feedback from our clients

“As an international, self-employed circus performer filing taxes in both Germany and the United States, finding a tax accountant who truly understands the complexity of my work has always been a challenge. […] Whenever I’ve been under time pressure, Max Gansneder has gone out of his way to prepare and deliver important documents quickly and efficiently. That level of reliability has been invaluable given the unpredictable nature of my work.”

– Sara Twister, circus artist

“We have been working with Mr. Gansneder for many years — both in our personal lives and in connection with my husband’s decision to open his practice and my decision to start my business as a business coach. In all of these situations, we have always received advice that was extremely competent, reliable, and, above all, remarkably prompt. We greatly appreciate the trusting partnership and the consistently friendly, attentive communication.”

– Birgit Brey, Business und Mental Health Coach

“After a rough start with our first tax advisor, m-taxpoint got our carpentry back on track digitally. The transition was completely stress-free, and we finally understand our numbers properly. We especially appreciate the personal connection with Max: he takes the time to explain everything clearly and supports us with every new challenge. We’ve recommended m-taxpoint many times and can’t recommend the team highly enough, especially to any new business owner!”

– Holzlöwe GmbH, carpentry

“My collaboration with Mr. Gansneder began in 2021. We started with business start-up consulting when I established my small jewelry business as a goldsmith.

Throughout this time, I was always informed in advance about upcoming obligations, fees, and, above all, the development of my business. As a result, I have never experienced any unpleasant surprises, but have had a reliable tax advisor at my side ever since.

What particularly stands out about Mr. Gansneder is his proactive approach to listening and understanding his clients’ personal circumstances. When we purchased our property or faced family circumstances such as a need for long-term care, he immediately explained and advised us on all relevant tax matters, both by phone and in writing.

When I had an export transaction to a non-European country, it was especially helpful to go through the specific requirements with him in advance, which he already had readily available.

With Mr. Gansneder as your tax advisor, you can grow your business with confidence and look to the future with peace of mind, even when facing changes such as digitalization.”

– Kuscu Celik, KJP Therapie

“I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Max Gansneder and the m-taxpoint tax consulting and I look forward to continuing our excellent — and hopefully long-term — collaboration. Expertise, reliability, patient friendliness and a genuine willingness to think things through — that’s what makes all the difference to me.”

– Katharina Ehrhardt, Positive Psychology Consultant and Coach

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

In which country am I a tax resident?

Tax residency is generally determined by where you live, where you usually stay, and where the center of your life is. If you live or work in multiple countries, special rules may apply. We will review your situation in detail and determine in which country you are subject to taxation and to what extent.

When income is earned in multiple countries, so-called double taxation treaties often apply; see the question on double taxation treaties. These treaties are designed to prevent income from being taxed twice. The specific rules that apply depend on the individual case. We ensure that your income is reported correctly and that unnecessary tax burdens are avoided.

Different rules apply depending on the length of your stay, your place of residence, and your sources of income. Often both German and foreign income must be taken into account. We’ll guide you through the entire process and ensure that your tax return is prepared correctly and clearly.

A double taxation treaty is an agreement between two countries that determines in which country certain types of income are taxed. The goal is to avoid double taxation. We will review which rules apply based on your specific situation.

When you move to or from a country, your tax obligations often change. Depending on your situation, you may need to report your income on a pro-rata basis or in multiple countries. We can help you manage this transition smoothly from a tax perspective and avoid future problems.

Self-employed individuals must file an income tax return that includes a calculation of their profits and—depending on the nature and scope of their business—calculate sales tax. In addition, ongoing bookkeeping and the filing of advance sales tax returns may be necessary. We’ll help you establish a clear and reliable structure right from the start.

You can submit your documents to us digitally and complete many processes online — no matter where you are. At the same time, we remain available in person and can discuss important matters by phone or video call. This saves you time and gives you flexibility.

We are only authorized to prepare German tax returns, but we consult with tax advisors abroad as needed. We have established a network of tax advisors in various countries with whom we maintain contact. This ensures that your tax matters are handled correctly also on the international level.

Yes. You’ll have a dedicated contact person at our company who is familiar with your situation and will support you in the long term. This helps us avoid information gaps and unnecessary follow-up questions.

Many clients approach us because their situation seems complex. International matters, in particular, are a key focus of our practice. Together, we’ll analyze your situation and find a clear and legally sound solution.
